Rodney W. Byrnes | Founder & President

Rodney Byrnes is Founder and President of Arrow Street Development (ASD), a real estate development firm focused on urban, mixed-use development projects that involve public-private-partnerships. He leads ASD’s placemaking efforts adjacent to the $4.3 billion IU Health Methodist Hospital expansion and along historic Indiana Avenue adjacent to Purdue University Indianapolis and Indiana University Indianapolis.  The ASD executive team has executed over $4 Billion of development projects with over 50 years of combined experience.

 Prior to forming ASD, Rodney served eight years as Vice President of Real Estate Development for Strategic Capital Partners. Rodney led SCP’s efforts as master developer of the Avondale Meadows Community Revitalization in Indianapolis that invested over $80,000,000 in the form of award-winning charter schools, the class A, mixed-income East Village Apartments, a full-service YMCA and a Federal Qualified Health Center and a grocery anchored retail center.

He also worked closely with the University of Indianapolis on the execution of their campus expansion plan. While at SCP, they developed over $50,000,000 of real estate in partnership with UIndy through the 164,000 square feet Health Pavilion and the 480-bed Greyhound Village student housing project.

Prior to SCP, Rodney was president of Crimson Commercial Group, a minority business enterprise that offered a broad spectrum of commercial real estate brokerage services. His clients included the United States Postal Service and the City of Indianapolis.

 Rodney holds a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Science and Public Policy from Harvard College.

 Rodney has a passion for the Indianapolis community.  He is a past board member for the Catholic Youth Organization, the Mother Theodore Catholic Academies, YMCA of Greater Indianapolis, the Indianapolis Cultural Trail In, and Lewis-Hubbard group of civic leaders that supports bipartisan efforts to improve education.  He is currently a trustee for the Children’s Museum of Indianapolis, the Christian Theological Seminary and Kurt Vonnegut Museum.

Rodney lives in Indianapolis with his wife and their two daughters.
